It's a challenge for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The highest peaks have long been mastered.

This is the team that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, along with another six T20 titles, and earlier maintained 1,294 days undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, those for the achievement hunters, are all that remain for a side that has won it all.

It needed as late as Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase exceeding 300, reclaiming their record for the largest in the female 50-over format, is, honestly, a tribute to the pitchers that have worn canary yellow over the last half-century.

It's challenging for their batters to maintain a record if not afforded the chance.

Finally, the result of Australia conceding 330 was leader Alyssa Healy being given a chance to produce her latest masterpiece.

Then best known as the young family member of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after Australia didn't secure either of the T20 or ODI World Cups from the prior year and has seen it all through 15 trophy-laden years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup came three months after her first appearance and seven global championships have resulted from 10 tries across formats.

The gritty keeper was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India momentarily interrupted the winning streak.

That loss "drove us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy commented earlier.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the final and was named player of the tournament. She ensured her country would not come up short.

The question of whether this recent magnificent innings exceeded that prior achievement can be debated.

Some will argue the case for final game tension. Some might respond with the test that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's definite is this century was much more difficult to see coming.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 happened while she led the batting statistics, but this performance came after six matches in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've observed me in training, it was a challenging time because I feel like my form was missing at all," said Healy.

"Yet the moment you take the field, your competitive instincts kick in and you completely engage with the contest."

Healy's fighting spirit has always been her great strength - and an irreplaceable characteristic in taking over from famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, dismissed by the emerging pace bowler in each encounter, but here that only provided Healy's motivation.

One run resulted off Gaud's first delivery and from that point Healy was in motion.

"The possibility to take the field and face the challenge with her and merely enjoy the moment in that aspect, kind of motivated me," commented Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 deliveries - her fastest at the World Cup - and her ton in 84 balls as she attacked short-pitched balls, striking 21 boundaries and three big hits.

Once she was dismissed the team needed 66 more at one run per ball - a manageable total now demanding an easy conclusion.

"Pursuing 330 is new territory so I'm happy we have the assurance to accomplish that now," stated Healy further.

"Ideally we won't need to do it another time but, should it happen, we believe we can do it."

Those words will be the ultimate thing rival teams at this championship need to hear.

During the last week a feeling they will triumph from any situation has become more firm - this triumph following success over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite struggling at 76-7 at one point.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before an encounter with old rivals England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final berth may well be secure.

During that phase they exited the prior year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - an encounter Healy was absent due to torn tissue in her foot as she led her country for the initial instance at an important competition.

So strong is her resolve, she later said she regretted not playing despite the injury.

But while she subsequently acknowledged those physical issues have pushed back plans to retire, this tournament is expected to be her last as captain in one-day cricket and she is still to achieve a global event as captain.

Success in India would bring her to the top of her final mountain.
